What we check, before your child sees it
Every page in Finder was fetched and read by us. We look at what the page loads behind the words, not only at the words. Only the clean ones get in, and each one carries the date we last looked.
The standard
- No ad networks
- nothing on the page is sold to an advertiser.
- No profiling trackers
- no advertising pixels, no session recording, nobody following your child.
- No popups or interstitials
- no email box over the article, no notification prompt, no cookie wall to fight.
- No fake download buttons
- nothing shaped like a button that does something else.
- A secure connection
- the page arrives over https, every time.
- Right for the age
- a child of 7 to 12 can read it, and there is nothing on it they should not see.
One thing we do not treat as a reason to turn a page down: a museum or a government site counting its own visitors. 52 of the pages in Finder do that. It is not an advertiser, and it does not follow anyone off the page, so we record it here rather than hide it.
Where the checking stands
123
pages opened and read
79
pages that got in
9
pages that did not get in
A further 34 pages would not let us read them at all, so they are not in Finder either. This is the first month of checking, and the number of pages that got in is deliberately small. We would rather have 79 pages we have opened than 79,000 we have not.
Pages that did not get in
Real pages, several of them written for children, and the reason each one was turned down. You may recognise some of them.

The Family Pass
Finder is free to search 15 times a day on any screen. The Family Pass takes that limit off, for your household, for good.
get the Family Pass — $39, onceOne payment. No subscription. Works on every screen at home.
No account is created. After you pay, we email your pass code, and you type it once on each screen your child uses. Finder is new, so a person sends that code by hand the same day. If you need it sooner, write to hello@finder.nanocorp.app and it comes back within the hour.
Already have a code? Type it here.
